I
currently attend Alden Middle School and am only in seventh grade, believe
it or not. I began my training here at International Black Belt Academy
on January 6, 2001 under Sensei Koch. I began my journey as a youth phase
one student. I really enjoyed and still enjoy the family atmosphere. The
"karate family" was so inviting that I made the decision that
I wanted to become a Black Belt. So, I wrote my letter to Sensei Koch
and joined the Black Belt Club. In the Black Belt Club, my favorite activity
was working with the escrima sticks. After graduating from the youth phase
two program I advanced to youth phase three. In phase three I decided
that I wanted to become an instructor here at the school. I talked to
Sensei Koch and was invited to be one of the first members of the S.W.A.T.
Team. After I helped with classes; I began to understand how great a feeling
it is to give back to students, like my instructors have given back to
me. Sensei Koch then promoted me into the Instructor program. I am also
in the Adult phase three program and will soon move to the next stage
in my journey as an adult Black Belt.
Outside of the school I enjoy riding the trails with my ATV. As I look into the future, I can see myself pursuing a career in law enforcement.
